CITY OF CARSON WATER WARNING LEVEL CONSERVATION DECLARATION
JUNE 10, 2024

CITY OF CARSON, IOWA RESOLUTION 2024-11

WATER CONSERVATION DECLARATION – WATER WARNING LEVEL 1

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carson, Iowa:

With the recent rains, there has been some improvement to the region’s water supply, the City Water Operator and Mayor hereby recommend to the City Council to lower the water conservation restrictions from Level 2 to Level 1. Although the well levels have improved, the local water sources are still stressed from years of drought. With the summer season approaching, City leaders remain cautious and will retain water conservation level 1 restrictions to allow the local resources additional time to rebound from the drought.

Therefore, the City Council, of Carson, Iowa hereby declares a
PUBLIC WATER CONSERVATION: WATER WARNING LEVEL 1 as defined per city code chapter 93 in the City of Carson, Iowa during which time the following measures and provisions of the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 93 Water Conservation shall be in effect to produce an orderly and equitable reduction of water consumption until, by resolution, the Council finds and declares the water shortage or implications of drought stress on the city water system conditions to have been resolved.
