Garbage & Recycle Totes

Mills Trash Service and the City of Carson are continuing their efforts to educate customers on the proper way to place sanitation and recycling totes near the curb for collection.

To avoid interruption of service or a penalty, customers are asked to follow these steps:

• Prior to going to bed, on Wednesday nights, customers should place garbage and recycle totes at the curb.  
• Customers are required to have totes by the curb before 6 AM on Thursday mornings.
• After pickup, remove the trash tote and recycling tote from the curb no later than 6 am on Friday morning.  Some residents are leaving their totes on the curb or in the streets after collection putting them at risk of damage or blowing away.

City Ordinance requires that that the customer move the totes away from the curb within 24 hours after collection.  Failure to follow this requirement puts customers at risk of negligent damage to garbage totes or missing recycling totes (example: wind blowing them away). 

• Violation of this ordinance may result in a garbage or recycle tote replacement penalty fee.
• Garbage and Recycling Totes are property of Mills Trash Service.
